Yesterday was a beautiful spring day but when we were travelling home from visiting a village, 10kms inland from where we live on the coast, we saw a large thunderhead cloud which was sitting out to sea. Nothing eventuated from it, fortunately. It was such a wonderful example of these clouds so I took a pic of it from the car as we sped along the road. :lol2:

That is sugarcane in the paddock by the road.

Early evening, though, saw a large thundercloud building up out from the western sky. It had a long trail of thin cloud streaming from it, heading east. Again, nothing nasty occurred to our area, thank goodness.

Cloud is also streaming sideways from the mass of cloud.

The sun is setting behind the clouds. We still aren't getting any really colourful sunsets as yet.

A thunderstorm is coming up from the WSW. There had been rumblings of thunder on a few occasions this day as various thunderstorms moved up the coast. We later had a thunderstorm complete with wind, rain, thunder & lightning arrive from the west. Fortunately the hail wasn't very big, just small pea-sized.

These thunderclouds look so innocent, just like whipped cream. West.

These are taken from the back & are facing in a northerly direction. They show the back of the storm clouds & are blacker further down on the horizon under the trees.

Yesterday, the weather was very ordinary all day, with heavy overcast, dull conditions & nothing much happening. Later in the afternoon, though, a thunderstorm travelled up from the SSW & from over in the west.

This cloud does look rather nasty.

Looking SSW again. All these pics were taken from the safety of our front patio. I was not game to go out further, in to the front yard, to take pics as there was plenty of lightning about.
