Post by Guest on Sun 28 Aug 2011, 9:35 pm

This ginger only growg about24 inches tall and goes dormant every winter.Would be a good patio plant.
Its Genus Globba.I ha ve 2 species Globba wintii and Globba globulifera .
    First one is Globba wintii.

Next comes Globba globulifera , grows the same ,flower smaller but just as pretty . great combination yellow /mauve.

I must apologise for some of the photos which were taken last year when I was just learning to use my camera one handed, as my right hand is paralysed . I am thinking of getting a new camera with a better zoom . :sun:

Oh, my goodness. Pixie, there absolutely is no need for you to apologise. Your photos are great. The subject, of course, is exquisite. I cannot believe just how beautiful these flowers are. They are stunning. There I go, swallowing a thesaurus again.

Shall have to remember the name of these outstanding gingers. The name Globba won't be easily forgotten, thank goodness. Many thanks, once again, for showing us more plants from your gorgeous garden. :bravo: :photos: :thankyou:

That is so true, Pixie. :cool3: You should have seen some of the anagrams for PITA (which was all it would show) that came up with a Google search. :donald:
