What a gorgeous colour the rhododendron is, BigBilly. It is absolutely beautiful. That is definitely saxifrage, too, not that I am familiar with it, of course, but did let Mr Google do some searching & found a pic of it which was almost identical to your image. It looks to be a really attractive ground cover plant. Love the daisies & stocks. They are so English country gardenish, if you know what I mean. I'll bet you are pleased to see the ferns in action, growing & unfurling their new fronds.

Do hope spring continues like this for you & your garden & that the unpredictable weather has disappeared. Thank you, BB, for posting these lovely images of some of your amazing collection of flowers.

Sorry for not being around much for a while, but what with the changes to the garden and also exciting family
times, ( 3 half brothers together for the first time ever ) have not had much time. Hope to catch up now.

    Yes they are lupins Joy

Its been the worst spring and early summer i can ever remember weather wise and many of the garden plants
have struggled. However there is still some nice colour in the garden.

    Some of the roses.

Definitely no apologies needed, BigBilly. :good: That does sound like a wonderful family gathering & we hope a great time was had by all, despite the weather.

Your spring & early summer must be very ordinary if it is the worst you can remember, BB, & I hope it improves, markedly, from now on.

Those roses are absolutely gorgeous & the weather does not seem to have worried them. The little white ones with the fluoro pink edging are stunners. Love them all though. Many thanks for showing them to us. It is much appreciated.

Your flower garden must look fantastic, BigBilly, as these flowers are gorgeous. They seem to have done well despite the poor weather. The pink foxglove is a stunner, as is the white, but they are all beautiful. Love the bright marigolds. I haven't grown any for a while due to a lack of room.

Many thanks for posting these wonderful images, BB. They have brightened the day.

What a wonderful garden that is, BigBilly. You have put a great deal of thought & artistry into setting it up. It is a terrific use for a discarded shower tray. I think it is fabulous & I do love these sorts of specialty gardens.

Thank you for showing it to us, BB. Love it. :D

What a lovely sunny day too, BigBilly. The flowers in your garden do look lovely & cheerful as if making up for the dismal summer you had. I can see quite a few other flowers in the last pic as well. Just also noticed some little pansies in the lupin pic.

Do hope your flower garden will continue with its colourful display for a while yet. Thank you for these lovely pics, BB.

Are a lot of the homes made out of rock in your area? The side of the house is very lovely. The rock sets the flowers off.

Most of the older houses in the village are built with the Cotswold stone that is part of this area, and is quarried and cut locally Glad, There are about forty houses in the village, but the recently built ones
are of an imatation stone made to look very much like the original.

Our house was built in 1898 and has 20 inch thick solid stone walls.
We are in what is called a conservation area and there are very strict rules about what you can build with.
The village and large manor house used to be the country home of the Horlicks family.
The cottages were mostly built for people who worked on the estate and were what we call " Tied ", you
lived in them rent free but only if you worked on the estate.
