The billbergia nutans "Queen's Tears" are doing very well. They are growing so fast & greening up. Will, most definitely, need to repot all of them to make room for the new growth.

Noticed this morning that there are new flower buds appearing. Fantastic!! These are such unusual & gorgeous flowers.

    The largest bud.

This is the smaller billbergia nutans "Queen's Tears", which was languishing in the Bat Cave. It is now doing well outside & is flowering for the first time. It seems to have two or three buds growing.

This plantlet seems to have been caught on the side of the pot. It has curled around & around rather tightly. Guess this one won't be flowering any time soon. Not some of the others in the same pot.

Found some of the billbergia nutans "Queen's Tears" buds were hiding down in amongst the thickets of foliage that grown on these plants. They have really flourished. Was able to count about 9 buds growing. There may be more, hiding down in the jungle they have become.

    Here are today's images.

The largest of these two buds was hiding under the leaves of one of the aechmea fasciata "Primera" plants. Would never have seen it & only discovered it by accident.

Have discovered another billbergia nutans "Queen's Tears" bud. They are popping up everywhere among these plants. The second pic is of the billbergia nutans plants with little bits of pink showing here, there & everywhere.

This afternoon the little flowers had dropped out of the covering. Hopefully by tomorrow they will be fully open. They drip a great deal of nectar & can look rather sticky. Plenty of pollen falls too.

After another billbergia nutans "Queen;'s Tears" head count, have discoverd there are more than 25 bracts here. These plants are going crazy!! Each plant will only flower once then will grow some offshoots, which in turn will flower & so on.

Will have to repot them to make room for all the new offshoots. The original plants we bought, six of them, have grown so many offshoots. :O This is another plant you only have to buy one of, really. :lol2:

The billbergia nutans "Queen's Tears" bracts keep appearing. This is an amazing flowering season. We were excited when the offshoots started to grow, one at a time & when there were two or three flowering bracts. Now there is a veritable jungle of offshoots with the pots chock-a-block with plants.

Even the small pot which was in the Bat Cave, & wasn't really enjoying it there, has flourished since going outside. It has three buds at the moment.
