All the cymbidium orchid shoots are now growing very quickly. This is wonderful to see.

The Valley Olympic "Prolific" is also growing some lovely thick green roots. The bulb on the right of the second pic has served its purpose having been reabsorbed by the plant & is now an empty husk.

The second shoot on the "Kakadu Crystal" cymbidium orchid is still with us & continues to grow well. The first shoot is now 22.5cms (or 9ins) tall. The shoots are getting noticeably bigger each day.

Thanks, Dawn. :D It is especially good to see the Valley Olympic "Prolific" growing roots & a shoot, as it was looking as though it was finished. The "Kakadu Crystal" still had plenty of green so I did have more hope for it. :cool4:

The Valley Olympic "Prolific" cymbidium orchid new shoot is growing well. The two "bulbs" on the left are completely empty so all of their nutrients have been used by the plant.

These pics were taken a week ago. Shall get up-dated images when the weather improves.

There are two new shoots on the "Kakadu Crystal" cymbidium orchid which are both growing very well. This is good to see. Do hope they will all send up a spike, eventually.

Apparently so, Dawn. Spent bulbs are reabsorbed by the plant. After the flowers died, the leaves on these bulbs also died off then broke off down near the bottom, as if they were cut. Have never seen this happen on a plant before, either. The used bulbs are weird as they look ok to the eye but when you squeeze them they are like a hollow ball. There is nothing there. :lol2: This hasn't happened with the "Kakadu Crystal", as yet. :huh2:

The other two bulbs, on this orchid, are still green & solid, so, hopefully, they may produce a spike. They haven't even grown leaves yet, though, so do not know what they will do. Anyway, it is all a learning experience, isn't it??

The two cymbidiums are growing their new shoots although the Valley Olympic "Prolific" is not so prolific & its one & only shoot continues to grow very slowly. The "Kakadu Crystal" has two very well grown new shoots & have just noticed another new shoot growing. Its pot is becoming rather full.

There is now only one bulb, with no leaves, left in the Valley Olympic "Prolific". The other empty bulb husks were easily able to be removed as they were spent.
