This one is a double flower its unusually dark .

Taken in a different light ...

Its quite hard to believe sometimes the change of colour of blooms depending on the light ,time if day etc.I do love the Hibiscus but its hard work to keep the hoards of grasshoppers from feasting on for breakfast , My method is 4 tablespoons of mollases mixed with 2 liters of water and used to spray the buds every few days .but never spray the bushes in the sun . I spray late in the day when the sun is not on the plants.

These hibiscus are a beautiful colour, Pixie. It is amazing how some flowers can change their colours in such a way. Thanks for posting these pics. :)

Thanks, also, for the tip about the grasshopper spray. We haven't had an attack from these rotten insects for quite a long time. Did have a large number of the small, green ones devour a plant we had, many years ago, though. Think it was called "Summer Love" or something like that.
