This is a rare occurrence for me. That is to actually being able to capture a colourful sunrise. Don't have many of these in my picture albums as they are as rare as hen's teeth. During summer the sun rises far too early for me, even winter can be a bit early, too. Presently, the first rays of the sun appears at 6.15am with sunrise at 6.40am.

It is also hard to get images of the sunrise, as there are so many trees between us & eastern horizon to obscure the view. This morning, fortunately, there were not only some clouds for the sun to shine onto, but the sun is rising almost directly oppsite our back patio. Colourful sunrise aren't very common either, at the moment, for some reason, so we were extra lucky.

These were taken really early as it was summer & the sun is up well before I usually am. Not this day though.

Thanks, BigBilly. Yes they do not last very long & have diminished, rapidly, by the time I have got my camera ready.

The first & third pics show the magnificent ghost gum tree which is in a neighbours yard. This eucalypt completely sheds its bark each year & the owner shreds it for mulch after it has all fallen off the tree. Here is a link to the topic about this wonderful tree. There are images which show the bark being shed.

This morning is the day of our summer solstice. Fortunately, there was a colourful sunrise which I was able to take a pic of through Bruiser's Bat Cave window. This offered the best view of it, for us, & is the furtherest south the sun travels.

The tree on the right is a huge mango tree.

Thanks, BigBilly. It isn't easy to capture the sunrise, due to all the trees in the way. plus it seems to be covered with cloud these days.

There was another colourful sunrise yesterday. It is still rising from an angle which is awkward for us to take pics of the whole sunrise.

This one was taken from outside & does not show much of it.

This was taken from the Bat Cave through a fly screen. The large tree on the right is a huge mango tree & the one in the middle is a beautiful poinciana tree. These are in neighbouring properties.

the sun is moving further north for winter, the sunrises (if we have them) are now north of the ghost gum & a wee bit more readily snapped.

    This was from yesterday.

This morning's brilliant sunrise. This was taken as the sun was just coming over the horizon.

This morning's sunrise with clear skies but the day turned out to be cooler & very overcast. Dull & dismal after such a pretty start.
