This the second of our sarracenias & is simply known as a pitcher plant. The grower has not provided its proper name. This plant provided us with a huge surprise last summer. Hope it will do the same this coming summer.

Did not notice this flower until it was this size, yet I watered it each afternoon. It was much larger that the sarracenia purpura flower.

A pic of the plant from last spring & this spring in a larger pot.

A few days later. It does grow very quickly.

Took this pic this morning, when I saw a fly land on the upper part of a pitcher on the sarracenia. This pitcher was lying down too. The fly seemed particularly interested. Do hope it wandered up into the pitcher.

A pic taken a couple of years ago when we first bought the plant. A fly, fortuitously, landed on the pitcher just as I was taking its pic. The fly is on the pitcher in the middle.
