we normally have the same start to winter like we do to summer. cold days wet days then a flush of warm spells until we finally reach winter proper. But it feels like we are in the dead of winter already

Think winter is almost upon us. :( After all the lovely warm weather we have had lately, it is a bit hard to take the dull, dull, dull drab cool weather we have had today. The max temp is supposed to be about 21C (70F) & it feels like it, too. Am actually wearing a track top, albeit a lightweight one, though am still wearing summer pants.

The skies looked a little scary yesterday afternoon, as it seemed as though a storm was coming onshore from the sea. The clouds did look rather ominous.

Looks like you had quite a storm brewing. Did it blow over or did you get it?

We had a good sunny dry weekend. The mornings are of course were very very crisp being winter and all, but once the early morning mist lifted it was nice to see a bit of sun and no rain after the last two weeks.

Nothing happened, Dawn & that is the way I like it. :D It turned out to just be a photo opportunity. Did get some rain yesterday & it was so heavy that we soon had large puddles form on the lawn, even though we haven't had any rain for a while. They soon soaked in, thank goodness.

This morning is a total change from the past couple of days. It is a lovely sunny, cloudless day, so far, with temps well up from yesterday. Am back into summer clothes. Not bad, I guess, with winter, officially, only 2 weeks away!!!

That is great that you have finally had some sun after all your rain & wild weather. It makes a wonderful change & lifts your spirits up, doesn't it??? Rain can get so depressing, except if you live in a drought area, of course. ;)

Today was another glorious day & came as bit surprise, especially as the TV forecasters missed it.

It was such a contrast to yesterday's weather which was cool & dreary with very light rain all day. :apgn:

While I do realise that autumn weather can tend to be very unpredictable, our present weather is ridiculous. :mad2: Yesterday was a fantastic day with clear blue skies with hardly any wind & warmer temps. Today is wet, windy, dismal & dreary with cold temps. Will be lucky to reach 20/21C max.

We had fantastic weather yesterday 25 deg C max. and this morning at 8 o'clock it was warm enough to go outside without a jumper on (18 degC). Today it is forecast to reach 23 deg max. It is actually colder indoors than out

That is great to hear, Dawn. :good: I'm glad someone is having some decent weather at the moment. Still, we shouldn't complain, as this time last year we were having those terrible storms. :apgn:

We are having similar weather here, Dawn. Cold & wet one day (or two), then warm, clear skies & sunny the next. Trouble is the weather has been acting that way, all in one day. Talk about changeable. You don't know what it is going to do.

Today was a lovely day. Sunny with, mostly, clear blue skies with a soft wind. This may not last, though, as there has been east coast lows causing severe storm weather down on the south coast of NSW & these may eventually find their way up here. The distance is over 1000kms but these things don't worry about mere distance. We had about three of these destructive east coast lows in April/May of last year. It wasn't pleasant. :apgn:

Glad you have had good weather today. This will be one time that we will hope your weather isnt so predictable for this time of year eh!

It has also been a lovely sunny winters day here. It is colder inside than out. I sat in the sun this afternoon and thawed my frozen feet out, I also managed to get lots of laundry done .

:apgw: Mine is out flapping in the sun this morning, too, Dawn.

At the moment we have a bit of a breeze from the west, which is cold at night & warm during the day. The sky is still clear & so far, touch wood, no sign of an awful east coast low. Keeping our fingers crossed that they don't visit us. :o

Do hope your lovely warm sunny weather hangs around for a while, Dawn.

Our sunny weather is still here , but not for very much longer.. rain is forecast for today but it looks like it will still be sunny today. We have been having berg wind conditions. Yesterday at 3 pm it was 31 deg C on the patio, the inside temp was 25.

It sure is lovely & warm where you are Dawn. :hot!: It is quite the opposite here. :sad3:

We have had rain, rain, rain & more rain. It is still raining solidly. Hope our yard doesn't flood.

There is supposed to be one of those awful east coast lows forming just north of us. :omg: These are the cyclones you have when you are not having a cyclone. :apgn:

By the time our rain starts again in the next day or two, ( still very warm today) you will be having another warm spell. Our weather seems to alternate with yours .

keep us updated on your cyclonic weather, hope your garden doesnt flood again.

So do we, Dawn. It was looking a bit scary for a while there early this evening, as the rain was pouring down, nonstop. THEN wind started blowing & I thought, uh oh, here it comes but after a while it all quietened down &, now, at 9.15pm, the rain has stopped, as has the wind. :dance010:

Do hope all will be well tomorrow & that we have none of this..

Well, the thunder & lightning arrived, with wind, early this morning & the rain fell steadily all night. As a result the water is up to our back door & we have made "sandbags", from plastic carry bags & old towels, to squeeze between the screen door & the back door. So far this seems to be working. The sole cause for this flooding, apart from the heavy rain, is the crappy stormwater plumbing, of which the body corporate is fully aware but refuses to do anything about it. :x :mad2:   :cranky:

Gosh that is awful. Hope your system of the sand bags works well ! it's not funny to have the fear of being flooded out. Is it still raining or is it just thunder and lightening now with the wind ?

The thunder & lightning have eased for the moment &, at the time of typing this, the rain had also eased with the water receding. It did come right up to the door &, fortunately, the "sandbags" worked & stopped the water from coming under the door. We now have our fingers crossed that we don't get more rain as the ground in the yard is, well & truly, saturated. We are, also, waiting for the plumber to arrive but won't hold our breath.
