default Adenium Obesum ~ Vol 2

Early in August, I tentatively gave our beautiful adenium obesum a bit of a prune. Did read that they benefit from a prune so I hoped at the time that I hadn't either (1) pruned it too much, or (2) not enough.

Leaves have now grown. :excited: We were keeping our fingers crossed for quite a while, as there has been some critter which quite enjoys the poisonous nature of its leaves. Think it was snails. :cranky: Have placed a small lid with snail & slug bait, on top of the potting soil in the abenium obesum's container. Didn't want place the bait directly on the soil as these plants have some sensitivity to insecticides. Thought I should risk it. Though the snails did & we have had quite a collection of dead ones. Thankfully, the leaves are still unscathed. So far. :apgn:

A pic taken yesterday. The hibiscus schizopetalus leaves, behind the adenium obesum, are also unchewed. :bravo:

Thankfully, the mass of new leaves continues to grow well. Snails have been meeting their demise, with the protective snail bait, so we have our fingers crossed that they will leave the leaves alone. Hopefully the bait is more tempting than the adenium obesum's leaves.

We are so pleased to see all this new growth. Today's images of some of the bunches of new leaves & stem growth. :excited:

Here is an image of the adenium obesum with all its new greenery. Took it a couple of days ago. Went out on the back patio a few minutes ago & spotted a large snail on the underside of one of its leaves!!!!!!! :omg: Threw it as far as I could. It hit the fence.

Here are the largest flower buds being formed on our adenium obesum. :bravo: It is a little later than usual but, after all it has been through, this is quite understandable. :therethere:

The adenium obesum in the sun a couple of days ago. We are so happy with the way this plant looks now after all the problems it has had. :excited: The only problem is that the sun does wash the colour from the flowers. :cool4:
