The echinopsis seminudus has flowered for the first time this year. They do seem to flower after the Brazilian Walking irises have just finished. Funnily, it has only flowered since the Brazilian Walking irises started flowering. :huh2: :cool3:

They were both the same size. The size difference comes from one being closer to the camera. These flowers only last a few hours & were fully closed again by early afternoon.

These flowers have a glorious perfume. The bees go crazy for them.

Well it hasn't taken long for those two hairy, grey fuzzballs, on the echinopsis seminudus, to grow & become this.

They should flower tomorrow. Look at the rotten oxalis growing. It died down during the cooler months but is back with a vengeance now it is spring. It is hard to completely remove, being so close to the very prickly mammillaria hahniana. :O

An hour & a half later they seem to have grown. They do grow quite rapidly on the day before they flower.

Here the echinopsis seminudus flowers which opened yesterday. It doesn't look as though there will be any more flowers as I cannot see any more buds appearing.

Look what is working up to another lot of flowers. :bravo: Our echinopsis seminudus has a few new buds!!!!

The grey hairy ones are the more advanced buds. The white hairy ones, hopefully, will follow later.
