Our echinopsis seminudus appears to be getting ready for its spring flowering season. There are about eight growths on its spine showing. A couple are starting to go grey. These growths show up as being whiter than the the others on the spine & as they develop they go a whiskery grey. :lol2:

In this pic there are two on the one spine over on the right & one that is starting to go a furry grey, down over on the far left.

It does have plenty of offshoots or babies. Really must put them all in a container of their own to give them more room to grow..

The warty-looking grey fuzzy blobs have grown & there are now more of them. Last year the echinopsis seminudus started flowering when the Brazilian Walking irises had finished.

A close up of some of the growing echinopsis seminudus buds. They were a bit drowned by all the rain.

The echinopsis seminudus buds are growing & growing. This is getting exciting as they have such gorgeous flowers.

By the looks of all the babies that keep appearing, this is another plant I shall never have to buy again.

Here are the latest images of the echinopsis seminudus. The hairy, warty looking flower buds are really growing quite fast.

Two of the echinopsis seminudus "buds" have surged ahead & are growing very quickly. They will be the first to flower. It is funny how the others seem to stay on hold while the others have a growth spurt. :excited:

    Pics from today.

The echinopsis seminudus has flowered for the first time this year. They do seem to flower after the Brazilian Walking irises have just finished. Funnily, it has only flowered since the Brazilian Walking irises started flowering. :huh2: :cool3:

They were both the same size. The size difference comes from one being closer to the camera. These flowers only last a few hours & were fully closed again by early afternoon.
