Some baboons we saw in the road, they have no regard or fear of the traffic they just amble across. This troop had three huge males who were leading them.

One big male sat in the path of our car so as to make sure the babies and the females could cross the road, we were on the side but had started to move off when the females and babies stepped out and ran across the road. They were nearly knocked over by a passing car. I was trying to get a video but totally lost the plot when they nearly got squashed by this oncoming car

This was the male that blocked our path to ensure we didnt move the car so that the others could cross. I was amused at the way he sat there with his elbows on his knees. He wouldn't look at me at first, then he turned and gave me a sarcastic look hehe!

This man in the yellow jacket is the guardian of a baboon troop. He has a partner up the mountain who would watch the troop if it should go over the other side. We stopped and had a chat, he was very interesting to talk to. The baboons we just passed also had a "guardian"

    On to Slangkop....
Slangkop (snakes head ) lighthouse called this as the road leading to the lighthouse winds like the body of a snake, and the lighthouse is at the end of the track. I believe it is the oldest lighthouse.

On the way back. Going over OU Kaapse Weg. Sorry for all the names but it feels funny to change them into English as no one seems to do it. It is old cape road, which I think must have been the route the people took when trekking to the refreshment stations all those years ago, it is a shorter route to the other side than following the coast all the way around. Looking over the Cape Flats
