We live in a small coastal village in Northern NSW Australia, which is visited by tourists all year round. It only has a population of just over 3000 but this number more than trebles over the December/January summer holiday period. Easter gets extra busy too. We have an abundance of beaches & the river is tidal, as well, with a few small beaches. Apparently the area is very scenic.

A very small snapshot of the huge numbers of campers that descend on our village for the summer holidays. Most stay for about six weeks & fill the large camping reserve with hundreds of tent complexes. Most have water & power at their sites.

Captain Cook Drive directly behind the dunes of Main Beach. Captain Cook named Evans Head after the first mate on the Endeavour. The town took its name from this headland which is actually south of the village.

Captain Cook Drive goes from the surf club to the river & the North Breakwall with pathways going on around the river. There is a small littoral rainforest reserve to the right.

The road down to Shark Bay. This is a very popular, but small, beach.

There is a small airfield on the outskirts od the village & during World War II it was a training facility for the Royal Australian Air Force. Bruiser's father did his training there. The pilots trained using the Fairey Battle aircraft. This is a model of these aircraft on display at what used to be the entrance to the village. The place has spread out a bit since it was installed. We live nearby. That is part of the high school in the background.

That is sooooo true, Dawn. Haven't taken any pics around town for some time. Must do so as things do change, don't they. Have some more pics tp post.

This is a pizza & fish & chips takeaway shop. Think they do a roaring trade with the campers. Have never been there myself.

THe Bait & Tackle store. These shops were built in the "old style" & have a large mural painted on the top facade.
