Dawn wrote:No us neither, we get the New Zealand Christmas tree that flowers here but I think that is in the summer ? not sure havent seen any out for ages now cant be sure I am right on that season. But they are common along our coastline! So it was a real treat for me to see these lovely trees blossoming everywhere. When I started ooohing and aahing over them , the reponses I got were mostly blank stares from locals. I think when you have something you live with on a continual basis they become "just there". I tend to be like that with our beaches, when people say what wonderful long clean beaches we have, its just like * ok yes*

Ok here are a few more

The NZ Christmas trees or pohutukawa, would flower at Christmas. Have seen some here where we live but they flower earlier & only grow to shrub size even though we are on the coast which is the place pohutukawas grow best.

Yes, we do get blase about things we see everyday, don't we?? That is why it is good to travel. While it is wonderful to see all the strange & wonderful O/S stuff, you still appreciate what is back home, a bit more when you return. Does that make sense?? I am a bit tired right now. Might not be making much sense.

No that makes perfect sense. It must be late now for you. I will chat to you tomorrow, if you would like.

Seeing the beautiful spring flowers makes me dream of spring again.

Winter's wrath is upon my world currently. No snow yet but it is bound to happen one of these days. Rainy today with a temp of about 43.
