Saw two of our magpies together & realised one had different patterning to the other. While Australian magpies aren't necessarily identical this amount of difference seems unusual. It has more white on the leading edge of its wings & more elsewhere.

Had noticed one of the many doves visiting the seed pile had about a 2 in white tip on its tail which differed from the others. Couldn't tell what species it was so took these pics . Turns out it is a spotted turtle dove. It really stands out so am suprised a raptor hadn't taken it.

Spotted turtle-dovs scrapping. Doves usually a peace symbol seem to be a cranky species of bird. They all get like this when there is food about.

After saying the Eastern Rosellas that have been visiting our feeding station are generally fairly solitary birds, normally seen alone or in pairs, we have suddenly been recieving large numbers of rosellas. Word must have spread about the free seed available at our front yard, Here is a group of six rosellas with a solitary bar-shouldered dove. The rosellas could be a family group. The sausage meat in the dish  is for the magpies.
