These eucalypts are showing the rusty colours of new growth.

A sturdy fence probably to protect road from possible rock falls.

  Thank you so much Joy. :photos:   It is hard so believe that you can take these amazing pictures from a moving car.
So nice to see the grape
vineyard.  I sometimes see wines from Oz here.  Wondering if they make raisins, or maybe they are just to eat and feed
     Squizzy. ;)
Now I am confused about the trees. :think2:  Is there a difference between a gum tree and eucalypt?  (Don't tell anyone I ask that. :blush2: I am sure I am the only one that doesn't know.)
Loved the way they honor the servicemen along the Federal Highway!
Thanks again for taking the time to show me your beautiful country!  I appreciate every picture!
                 :goodnight: Granny

Thanks Granny.  There are quite a few deleted pics especially as Bruce doesn't trundle along.  :lol3:

Those would be wine grapes in that vineyard. Table grapes are grown in many areas around Australia but generally not where wine grapes are grown for some reason. Some may overlap.

Eucalypts are gum trees which is just their common name, usually denoting their type such as ghost gum, snow gum, blue gum, spotted gum, scribbly gum etc.  :D

The rest areas named for VC winners are all along the three highways making up Remebrance Driveway. They are on both sides. Of course, not all rest areas on these highways would be named for them as there would be more of them than there are VC winners. It is not awarded often.

There are plenty more pics to come Granny.  We haven't even reached Goulburn & the Big Ram yet.

Looks like a country lane instead of the norhbound dual lanes of a divided highway.

Sheep!! These are merino sheep grown for their fine wool not tough meat. We don't see sheep where we live except for an occcasional hobby flock.
