I have started to walk along the Canal in the early mornings for a bit of exercise. The Royal Military Canal is 45 km's long built during the Napoleonic wars. One could walk or cycle along here as far as Hastings without touching any main roads. It  stretches from Seabrook (nr Folkestone) to Hastings and runs along the old cliff line bordering Romney Marsh apparently. The section of this Canal where I walk is called the Princes Parade. Across the bridge you see in the photo is the Imperial Golf Course.  It is a 7 mile drive from my home to get there, so not too far to do this regularly.
