What a fantastic array of different birdlife you have in your garden Just goes to prove how bird-friendly you have made it.  Lovely birds too & not one that we would see in our yard. Love the way the blackbird is looking at the blue tit. Wonder if it's thinking mmm lunch?  :lol3:

Wow, BigBilly, that is one proud cock pheasant. What a stunning bird he is too. He must feel safe in your garden to bring his wives there for a visit. Excellent.

Wow, BigBilly, this cock pheasant would be kept busy making sure all his wives are safe from predators & well fed.

Our Australian birds are mostly monogamous life-long partners which stay together all year round. The ones that do just come together for breeding tend to only have one female, except for the emu. The male emu broods the eggs & rears the young to adulthood. It's thought the female waltzes off after laying the eggs to find another male prepared to to do all the work of raising their young.  :lol3:

Many thanks for sharing this delightful pic with us, BB. You certainly do have a safe bird paradise.  :D

Our male pheasant did not turn up in the garden last weekend and we thought he might have been chatting up a new wife to bring to the feed area, but chatting to a neighbor she said that her terrier had caught and killed a very pretty pheasant, very sad.

Three days later a cock pheasant turned up and we thought he was back but was very nervous and did not come down to the feed and on close look through binoc's we could see it was a different bird.  He isn't as tame as the old one was and not as big but at least the harem
    have a husband again.

Very sad but that's what happens.

That is sad, BigBilly. Pleased though that a new cock pheasant was on the job quickly to attand to the harem. Maybe he had been watching for his chance. The other cock pheasant may have been a little too tame which could have contributed to his demise. Might be good that the new one is more nervous.

Hope he does well with the ladies.

He is a beauty, BigBilly. After what happened to the other bird, I guess he has every right to be nervous. :lol3:   Hope your neighbour keeps her dog under control.
