Our wonderful echinopsis seminudus are growing flower buds again, right on time for their usual flowering season. So far it is just the parent & one of its largest pups. There many new pups growing & I still haven't repotted the poor things. They really are squashed for room.

There are now five of the grey furry echinopsis seminudus buds growing fast with at least four of the small white fluffy buds which is the early bud stage. So far, it looks as though five of the pups are joining in as well. Excellent. :bravo:

Three of the echinopsis buds are starting to gow very quickly &, hopefully, will flower before we go away. The others will most likely flower while we are away.

We left early on Thursday morning, Granny & as they flower early I was able to get pics of the two echinopsis seminudus which had opened. The third had still not opened, unfortunately, for some reason, so I missed it. Shall post the pics when we return, after we recover that is.  :lol2:

Unhappily, the third echinopsis seminudus flower waited to open the next day while we are away.

These two echinopsis seminudus flowers waited for our return from our trip. They flowered eight days after the other two. The shrivelled remnants of the previous flowers can be seen.

  Wonderful!  Love the white flowers.  Glad you got home in time to see them.  I don't know what impresses me more, your green thumb or your talent with a camera. :thanks:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Granny.  :blush2:  These are beautiful flowers which we never knew this cactus had when we bought it so it was a fantastic surprise when it did flower. Then some of its babies joined in.  :bravo: :dance010:

The perfume is gorgeous & not overwhelming.

;) Now that is what I call a great surprise.  Do you use a different soil for the cactus?

Yes, I did use a special cactus & succulent potting mix, Granny.   :cool3: It's one that has better drainage for them. Probably has more sand in it.

Today's partially opened echis seminudus flower. They seem to be opening in the wee small hours as yesterday's flower was closed before I knew it already opened. These buds grew very rapidly.

The beautiful flowers of the echinopsis seminudus are now only partially open in the morning. Must be fully open before dawn which hasn't happened before.
