The seas breaking on the bar at the mouth of our esturine river. The zoom makes that reef look closer to the entrance than it really is. We were nearly a kilometre down the river from the bar when I took these images of the waves smashing onto the bar.

The normally beautiful cerulean blue waters of the Evans River are a dark chocolate brown due to the runoff from the wetlends along the river, caused by the heavy rain.

    :good: Fantastic pictures!!
Some very big puddles.  I hope Bruce took his shoes off before he went wading. :lol2:
Hard to believe some one was out playing in the waves.
Thanks so much for the pictures.  :bravo:

Thanks Granny.  :D   You won't catch Bruce stepping into such puddles. :lol3: No one was out surfing or swimming when these pics were taken as the beach would have been closed. Even surfers wouldn't have been silly enough to attempt those waves although they did at other beaches.   The volunteer coastguard post was unmanned too as they knew no one would be able to put to sea or would be smashed up before they crossed the bar if stupid enough to try.

It is rockfishers who put their (& others) lives at risk in such conditions or even when it is calmer. They fish off rock ledges at the bottom of steep cliffs such as the ones at Goanna Headland & Halftide Rock. Nearly one a week gets washed off the rocks & drowned somewhere in NSW.

I was looking at picture 15.  On the lower right side I thought someone was out on the rock.  (Must be the shape of the rock.)  I thought only a   would be out on that rock. :lol2:
Love your pictures!!  Thanks so much!!

  Sharp eyes Granny. :good:   That is just a piece of rock poking up on Halftide Rock. At the time the pic was taken it was being wave-swept. Halftide Rock isn't very big. Here are a couple of images taken of it in calmer weather. Halftide Rock is on the left.
