Yesterday the weather was very hot & lacked humidity. The temp went up to 38°C (or over 100°F) very warm for autumn. These storm clouds built up from the south during the late afternoon. This is facing SSW.

The thunderstorms returned after this one had headed north & continued through the night. There was plenty of rain as well as lightning & thunder.

Rainbow lorikeets don't seem to care. These are having a feed of the umbrella tree's flowers.

    The storm hits suddenly.

This pic was taken while I was taking movies. Never realised this had happened but it can be done with my new camera while filming movies at the same time. It is in the same mode as the movie which is 1920x1080HD. Looks odd.  :lol3:

This morning it was very dark & gloomy then it poured down with rain accompanied by thunder & driving wind. It was a storm system which came in straight off the ocean & rained heavily for quite some time. The water quickly pooled. Luckily it drains readily too. A thunderstorm at that time of the day is not common as they usually build during a very warm day.

The back yard. The wind was driving the rain in this direction.

I forgot it is autumn for you Joy.

I am so much ready for spring that I forget some people in the world will go to fall.

That sure is a lot of rain!

We desperately need the rain, Glad. Luckily, where we live the soil is the type that allows rain pools to drain away very quickly. We used to flood on our back patio right up to the door but the drainage has been fixed & that no longer happens.  :D

Yep, the Southern Hemisphere is now in autumn mode except where we live you wouldn't notice it. No leaf colour changes nor shedding. At the moment our minimum night temps are still at least 70°F with day temps around 80°F. Very humid.

Guess we do, Glad.  :lol3:  At 6.30am it is already 74°F with thunderstorms & rain predicted for this morning. This is late summer-type tropical weather although we live in the subtropics.
