The echinopsis seminudus has started growing flower buds again. There are three shown here. The mammillaria hahniana "The Old Lady" is also flowering. Hard to remove the oxalis as there is a severe risk of being got at by thorns & prickles when attempting to do so.  :lol3:

The echinopsis seminudus looks close to flowering. Its flower stems survived the fierce hailstorm we had later that afternoon, thank goodness, even though it received the full force of the winds & large hailstones. Fortunately the storm didn't last long.

Discovered the three echinopsis seminudus flowers had opened after they had started to close up. Forgot all about them although I did know they most likely would open this morning. Beautiful fragrance along with the Brazilian Walking irises & the hoya flowers.

Sideways view of the three echinopsis seminudus flowers as they are closing. There does seem to be a new bud forming on the parent plant.

The bud forming on the parent echinopsis seminudus disappeared. It either sacrificed it or some critter ate it. A small pup did, however, quickly grew a flower bud. So quickly ion fact I didn't get any pics of it. Thought I would have plenty of time. :lol3:

This was as far open as this echinopsis seminudus flower was early morning. Seems it was already closing.

Echinopsis seminudus flowers. All four have foraging honeybees. They go crazy for the pollen of these flowers. The fifth flower bud will open tomorrow. It is inbetween the two larger flowers. Probably no room for it today.

A solo echinopsis seminudus flower bud which will most likely open tomorrow early am. The dried-up stringy things are the remnants of the other flowers. Their nutrients get re-absorbed by the plants & all that remains are withered strings that will come away from the plants easily.

Thanks, Dawn, they are indeed. The sole one hasn't opened yet but believe it will tomorrow early am. Well, hopefully it will. :luck:  Some critter has had a nibble of its stem & it has twisted but the bud looks ready to open. Shall have to wait & see, I guess. :O
