This plant is also known as Happy Plant which it certainly is. This a much better name than Corn Plant, I think. Ours has grown very well indoors. Which is good for us as it is an excellent air cleaner. This plant does not tolerate chlorinated &/or fluoridated water so we use our, very safe, rainwater. These plants aren't heavy drinkers & do tolerate some dryness. It will let you know when it needs watering as it will droop slightly & the leaf ruffles get more pronounced. It can be fertilised but only a small amount is sufficient. Half strength liquid fertiliser every four weeks is all it needs. Due to our climate, I fertilise all year round, though I do slow down a little during winter but, as most of our container plants continue to grow through winter, they do need some feeding.

Here is a pic of ours when I put it outside to let the rain wash the dust off it. It doesn't like being in the sun & ours has some spots on its upper leaves caused by the very small amount of sun it received that day. It is as if the sun cooked the water droplets. The poor thing isn't damaged but the spots do look a little unsightly, that's if you look hard enough & find them.

Thanks Nellie. It is a beautiful plant & was very happy to have the dust washed off it, too. :D It sits by our front entrance & if it grows much more we shan't be able to get in!!!!

The Happy Plant has grown & grown. Must get some pics of it but unfortunately it is in a spot where it is hard to get a decent shot of it. It is a wonderful plant.

Our dracaena fragrans massangeana or "Happy Plant" continues to look so good. It has grown so much since we first bought it & it is getting harder to get in to our place via the front entrance.
