Managed to get some of the veggie plants from greenhouse to the garden this week.

But lettuce, radish and carrots are doing well in the polystyrene boxes in the greenhouse.

    Looking great.

I have a few of those polystyrene boxes similar only mine have individual circles. The grands planted seeds in the circles but we are having trouble getting them to germinate for some reason. I think we need to drill a hole in the bottom of each circle.

Yes Glad,it could be a problem with no hole as the soil may get too wet.

I put four finger size holes in my big ones

Sugar snap peas recently planted out. All the supports came off rubbish skips.

Great pics of your garden, BigBilly, and love your hens. Your rhubard looking great. I tried twice here, but each time lost them when we went away in January, our hottest month.

I plan to use a couple of the white boxes. I've noticed in the past that they can harbour slugs, so I plan on setting them up on bricks so they drain and I can keep an eye on them.

My word, everything is looking good in your veggie garden, BigBilly & so are your girls. I'll bet they had enjoyed themselves scratching about in the dirt & it would have benefitted from their attentions too. :D

Starting your plants off in the greenhouse certainly pays off in a big way. You certainly do find some good stuff in your local rubbish skips. :)

    How's your hip??

Welcome to Patio Garden Jandante, look forward to seeing some pic's of your garden.
Slugs are a real problem here too but I have found that getting the chickens for a few days on each bed as it becomes vacant has made a big difference. Don't like using slug pellets
but do put a few under the membrane that I grow the potatoes under.

The early start inside for all the plants has been a big help Joy, especially with the
very cold spring we are having.

My hip is getting better, but much slower than the first one. But the medics did say it is a slower job to recover when they take one out and put another in. Am getting about Ok but have to rest a bit more often.

Yes, Big Billy, your veggies do have that advantage of being able to be started early inside. It would be a big help especially if your spring weather has been fairly unstable.

Do hope your recovery from your hip op will be well on its way come summer. These things can take more time than we realise. Your hip hop dancing will have to wait a bit longer. :lol3:
