Our zygoes - schlumbergera truncata - have starting growing buds for thier 2013 flowering season, even though the night minimum is still 15-17C These poor plants have not had any attention apart from some watering since they finished flowering last year. Probably should give them some fertiliser. :blush2:

Sonce last season we have lost the Sterling & White Fantasy zygoes which were in the same container. They suffered brown rot & I could have possibly saved them as I did with other White Fantasy zygoes but did not have the energy to do so at the time, unfortunately. :O

This is the unknown zygo which we have had for 25 years. It has grown so well since last flowering season & should have several flowers this year.

This is the pot of our very old, type unknown, zygo - schlumbergera truncata. It has regrown so well.

The flower buds, of all the zygoes, are growing so quickly now.

The flower buds on all the zygoes - schlumbergera truncata - are slowly growing. This the old one which we have had for 25 years. It would have been a few years old when we bought it. It has now recovered so well it is bigger than when we first bought it. :bravo:

A closer view of this zygo - schlumbergera truncata.

All the zygoes have now had two doses of fertiliser. Shall keep this up for the next few weeks.

The larger zygo - schlumbergera truncata - container. Has both "White Fantasy" & Strawberry Fantasy" plants. Was going to repot this one last year but somehow never got round to it.

This is a pot of pieces which have come off other zygoes - schlumbergera truncata. They seem to take a few years to become establish then eventually take off. They are also slow in growing their flower buds.

A week later & the zygo - schlumbergera truncata - flower buds have grown quite a bit. This is the old type-unknown zygo. It is fantastic to see how much it has grown in the past year.

The slow-growing zygo - schlumbergera truncata - replanted dropped leaves are finally showing some flower buds. These can take quite a while to re-establish.

The largest zygo - schlumbergera truncata - flower bud. The snail damage to the leaf below it doesn't seem to prevent it growing flower buds.

This will be the first flower to open on the recovered-from-brown-rot "White Fantasy" zygo - schlumbergera truncata. Last year it was the first to open its flowers. Seems the zygoes are taking it in turns.

The next flower to open of the "White Fantasy" zygo - schlumbergera truncata - plants in this container is the mutant salmon coloured one. Good to see they are still happening. They are such a pretty colour & it all started with just one flower.
