Yes, Dawn, I was very lucky to get this plant. Never really knew it flowered until it started happening to mine. This did take a couple of years, if I remember correctly, but now it flowers like clockwork each spring. It is great to see the pups flowering too. It is a very prolific "breeder" in that it has plenty of pups. :lol2:

Really must give it a new home, one day. :blush2:

The echinopsis seminudus flower bud 4 hours later. The first flowerbud will definitely open tomorrow. Not so sure about the second. It may grow quickly overnight or open the following day.

The echinopsis seminudus bud did flower. This was on one of the pups. The other should open tomorrow.

As these seem to flower on overcast, windy days this might mean our current awful weather will continue to tomorrow. :aargh:

Today's Echinopsis Seminudus beautiful flower. It fooled me as it has been a lovely sunny day but it was windy which sends its perfaume wafting through the air to entice the pollinators.

This was a big surprise for us as the echinopsis seminudus cacti had flowered & we did not notice until 11.3am. By this time, two of the flowers were already closed & the third was closing. Did notice a few days ago that the cacti had six buds growing & they looked as though they would not be ready to open for a while but they have raced ahead much more quickly than expected. The reason we never saw them earlier today was because it was raining. There are another three buds ready to open tomorrow. Shall, hopefully, catch them before they close up.

The sole echinopsis seminudus flower still open. There are two of the buds, ready to open tomorrow, on either side.

There were another three flowers the next day. The one in the front was already starting to close even though it was still early in the morning.

This was taken before the rising sun was up past the ghost gum tree.

This is one of the echinopsis seminudus flowers before the sun had risen high enough to illuminate it.

The same flower with the sun on it. It just shows the differences the various amounts of light can make in images of these beautiful flowers.

Three echinopsis seminudus flowers looking beautiful in the sun. The closed flower stems from the previous day's three flowers are being reabsorbed by the plants.

Another echinopsis seminudus flower, this time just a single which developed very quickly. It was already starting to close up before 8am & was fully closed by 11am.

There have been so many of these beautiful, fragrant flowers this season.

Another echinopsis seminudus flower suddenly appeared. Two days later there was another which also suddenly grew & flowered but we never saw it because of the rain. Haven't seen them grow in such sudden bursts before.

Our ever hopeful echinopsis seminudus flowered again today in the midst of a raging storm. Not a chance of getting a pic of it nor of any bees visiting it. They wouldn't have left the hive.

Yes, Dawn, the echinopsis seminudus does have such beautiful flowers so I was sad to miss two of them due to the storm.

Do hope you will be able to find a specimen soon. :cool3:
