The Flame Lilies have been thriving and growing since the warm weather arrived. The yellow are the first to come up and flower. The flowers look quite green at the moment, they will slowly change to yellow. Well I am hoping so

This is the first to open there are other buds, but they are still quite small. You can see one of the tendrils from a leaf in this photo quite clearly

Yes the shade wind place is great Joy! I guess no plant really like's incessant wind, they grow but are far less stressed looking when protected.

Here is a photo of the perfectly shaped Gloriosa. Or should I say this is what they should look like and do normally in their natural environment, once fully opened.

These flowers are little out of shape as the buds had been rubbing on the shade cloth from the wind buffeting them, I also came back to this surprise. Phew! I do miss my camera

These three I picked to have an example to paint , I don't normally pick mine for a vase, as I prefer to get seeds from them

A photo of the Gloriosa Surperba . It has been benefiting from the grenadilla vines VIP treatment of food and water and rewarded me with a lovely little flower. Mwah! love them

The Gloriosa's are starting to flower :) Some photos this season are of newer bulbs I planted last year

These bulbs are not in the most ideal spot as they do like some shade, and the Plumeria is taking its time to grow its leaves this year ?

I have noticed these newer bulbs go strange in colour by losing their definition between the yellow and red. I am wondering whether the heat has something to do with it or if it is just the strain of the bulb ? last year the same happened to the lot in my shade house ?
