On the southern outskirts of Coffs Harbour where we are about to part company with our "friend" of the past 92kms. Hope they did not become paranoid about us following their every action.

Thanks, BigBilly. :D So glad you like the scenery. Much of the road travels through eucalypt forests which does make for some lovely scenery.

It was good to see the wildlife bridge there, although it is a shame there is only the four of them on the entire Pacific Highway, which runs from Sydney, NSW, to Brisbane, Qld, roughly 1000kms. At least there is the fencing along big stretches of the highway plus the several highwire safety crossings further south so that is something.

Still have a few more pics to post.

This is some of the Sapphire to Woolgoolga upgrade. It stretches for 25kms & will make this a four lane divided highway instead of the undivided two lane it is now. It is projected to cost more than $700 million dollars. Actually, it seems longer than 25kms, especially as the speed limit is only 80kph, & is only single file all the way with no overtaking. :cool4:

Coming into Woolgoolga. This is a Sikh temple. The Woolgoolga area has the largest population of Sikhs in Australia. They are strongly represented within the banana growing industry in this region & are said to own 90% of the banana farms in the district.

    Thanks Granny. :D

Our journey hasn't ended yet as I still have a few more pics from the last 200kms, or so, before we turn off the Pacific Highway, at Woodburn, to drive the 11kms to the coast where we live. Shall post them soon. :cool4:

Wells Crossing. One of the many, many 34 wheeler B-Double trucks which ply the Pacific Highway. It is roughly 50kms south of Grafton which means we are about 150+kms from home.

This is, most likely, part of the Glenugie State Forest. The Pacific Highway travels through many state forests & national parks.

We are closer to home & travelling across one of the flood plains of the Northern Rivers. Most likely the the Clarence Valley as it is the southernmost of these valley flood plains & is the widest being called, colloquially, the Big Valley. We are now heading into sugar cane growing countryside.

No more images from this trip as the sun was lower in the sky to my left, by this time, & made the light less suitable for taking pics.
