Sorry for not being around much, but have just finished some big changes in the gardens, hope to be round much more as have lots of pics.

Re the growing of veggies in containers. I do it quite a lot for various reasons,
    1. Being able to start things early inside and then move outside. ( polystyrene boxes)
    2. Because i have onion rot in the garden i can use new soil in containers to grow spring onions.
    3. I can get more growing space.

Carrots & newly sown radish in cut down barrels

Lettuce & spring onions in old bath

    First carrots & spring onions.

Cucumbers & tomatoes in poly tunnel

    Tomatoes & cucumbers in conservatory

    Strawberries in pots.

Recently sown spring onions & carrots in poly boxes outside.

Thank you, BigBilly, for showing us your veggies in containers. They look great & are doing so well. It is very handy for those, with limited growing space, to know this can be done, as most people tend to think of vegetables as only being able to be grown in the ground with plenty of room. Your container grown veggies can be placed in those smaller areas where you cannot put a garden, can't they?? It is a great idea.

Your strawberries are fruiting well, too, I see. There will be strawberries & cream in time for Wimbledon. :lol3: The young carrots look great & would taste great, too.

We appreciate you have been very busy in your garden & do hope the big changes you have made will be very beneficial. Definitely no pressure BB, but I am looking forward to seeing your pics when you are able to post them. :D

Thanks Joy for pointing out this thread and thanks BBilly for posting such wonderful container garden pictures. It amazes me how well you can think of unique items to plant your garden in. I call it really being creative.

Would it take a few days to make the veggies grow like that? I seem having hard time growing it that good.

It takes quite a while for seeds to germinate, K, before they poke their heads above the soil. Then it can take several weeks until they are mature & ready to pick or grow their produce such as peas, beans, tomatoes, etc. Gardening is great for learning patience. :lol3:
