Pics from two nights ago of the three dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" flowers I found that night. There seems to have been more flowers than I have been able to get pics of. There has been no openings for the past two nights but there are still more buds to open.

No. 2. This looked to be still opening at nearly 9pm.

Then the dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" started flowering during the day, albeit early in the morning.

The dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" flowered many times o=ver a period of about 10+ days. This has been an amazing experience for us as it has never done this before. In the 20 years we have had this plant it has only flowered, usually singly, about 4 or 5 times. It really has been wonderful to see, but it is a shame these exquisite flowers are so ephemeral. :sad3:

To my total surprise, there are more flowers coming on the dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone"!!! :o This is only six months after the previous flowering!!! :excited:

Never even noticed them growing, either & only just saw one by sheer chance. After having a good look have seen there are quite a few growing buds, again. This is quite amazing as this plant, up till six months ago, had only ever had the one flower every few years!!! :bravo:

Have been trying to catch the nighttime flowering of the dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" but missed the first one. :O Last night tried to use the flash on my new camera but realised, after I was unsuccessful, that the last time this plant flowered I was using my old camera. :sheesh: The new one one functions differently with the flash. :o Had better study it up in the manual so I am ready for tonight's flowering.

Here are images taken of them this morning before they started to fade. Their perfume was still wonderful. At night, it is this that tells you flowers have opened. :D

Thanks, Dawn. We love these flowers. They look so different to what you would imagine from seeing the dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" plant.

This is the last of the five dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" flowers to open in this lot of flowers. It is a shame their flowering is so brief.

Look what is going to flower again!!! :excited: Cannot believe that the dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" is going to flower again so soon after the last lot. This will be the third time in 8 or 9 months!!! :o This is the plant that has only flowered about four times in the previous twenty years we had owned it. :O

This is only one of several flower buds.

There are some berries from the last flowering, Dawn. :bravo: This was a surprise, too, but there is only a couple, which is not many, considering there were about twelve actual flowers on each flower head. :sad3: As it is a dracaena it would probably grow well from cuttings, too.

We repotted this wonderful plant this morning. It was completely potbound & slipped out of its pot without any fuss. Should have, perhaps, cut some of the roots off but didn't as we noticed some more flower buds. It flowered a month or so ago, but the nights were far too cold to go outside to get some pics. It is now flowering readily. Wonder if that is because it was potbound?? From memory, though, the last time it was so potbound it split its pot, it did not flower much, if at all. It is fantastic just how much it is flowering now. :bravo:

Also noticed another berry on it. This one is still a bright & shiny red. Must get around to planting the others & see if they germinate.

Still haven't done anything with the dracaena surculosa punctulata "Sierra Leone" seeds. :blush2:

This wonderful plant is getting ready to flower again but I notice that many of the flowers are a bit twisted & misshapen. Wonder why???

Joy I was searching for the culture requirements of Dracaena surculosa sierra-leone and was sent to your link .WOW your plant is like jack and the beanstank . I have a very young plant and was checking up on whether it likes sun [no] or filtered shade [yes].
    Your plant is spectacular Joy.
